Reporting an error in a tutorial

This is the most useful message you can send. Tutorials go out of date — WordPress 7.1 lands on 19 August 2026 and will move things again — and a guide that no longer works is treated as a bug in this site, not as your problem.

To get it fixed quickly, include:

  1. The page — the URL of the guide.
  2. Your WordPress version.
  3. The step that failed — which one, and what you saw instead.
  4. Any error message, copied exactly.

How corrections are handled is set out in the Editorial Policy.

Asking a WordPress question

If a guide left something unanswered, say so — gaps in a tutorial are worth knowing about, and questions readers actually ask are what shape what gets written next.

Two things worth knowing before you write:

  • If your site is down right now, your host’s support is faster than any email — start there, and check the Disclaimer before making changes to a live site.
  • Messages here cannot substitute for hands-on help with a business-critical site. For anything involving payments, customer data, or income you depend on, use a qualified WordPress developer.

Comments on posts

For anything relating to a specific tutorial, the comments on that post are often the better place — the answer then helps the next person who hits the same problem. How comment data is handled is covered in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy requests

To ask what data this site holds about you, or to have it exported or deleted, use the contact method above. What this site collects, and your rights over it, are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Business enquiries

Please note before writing:

  • Guest posts, link insertions and paid placements are not accepted. Requests to add a link to an existing post in exchange for payment will not get a reply.
  • Products cannot buy coverage. No mention, review, score or comparison placement on this site is for sale — see the Affiliate Disclosure.

Anything else, genuinely relevant to a WordPress tutorial site, is fine to send.
